Alaina Diehl plays flute and piccolo with Santa Fe Pro Musica and Opera Southwest Albuquerque. She has performed with the Santa Fe Symphony, New Mexico Philharmonic, New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, 2011 New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players Pacific Coast Tour, New Mexico Woodwind Quintet, Victoria Bach Festival Baroque Orchestra, Meet in Beijing Arts Festival, Festival Ballet Albuquerque Orchestra, Concordia Santa Fe, and Sunday Chatter. Alaina is also a founding member of the Albuquerque professional flute quintet The Enchanted Flutes. She concertizes in other solo and chamber music settings, performing in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Madrid (New Mexico), and Los Alamos. These performances include music on baroque flute, recorder, flute, piccolo, and alto flute.
In addition to being an active local performer, Alaina has a private studio of varied students and leads sectionals at Albuquerque high schools and middle schools. She has students in the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program and students who have participated in the NMMEA All-State Music Festival. Alaina takes an interest in the local flute community, helping to organize local flute events as an Albuquerque Flute Association board member. She is also a member of the National Flute Association and has played on stage at the annual convention.
